So today Angelina Jolie had double mastectomy, which is the removal of one’s breasts, to prevent Breast cancer. So instead of praising Angelina on her bravery, men on Twitter decided to ridicule her, even calling her stupid for removing her breasts. For those of you on Tumblr that are attacking Feminists about being delusional about sexism against women and misogyny here’s your fucking proof that sexism and misogyny exists.

Im not saying it was a bad idea. The fear of cancer would cause a lot of people to do a lot of things, but she is a celebrity. Not just any celebrity, but a celebrity that is supposed to define hotness in media. She got her job because she can memorize lines(ever see Tomb Raider…I wouldn’t call that acting) and look hot while doing it. She got her job because she was HOT, and that’s not a bad thing either. God knows I would do the same if I could.

Hot does not mean attractive. Attractive can mean many different things. Hot is like a sub-genre of attractive that pertains to misogynist standards almost. The “Barbie Doll” figure, supper models, the porn stars, and especially celebrities.

By having this procedure, I personally believe she is being hypocritical in a way. I might not be using the right word but imagine this…

Angelina Jolie had every right to do what she did, yes, but her career and her image would obviously and should be damaged. Being a celebrity is literally ALL ABOUT IMAGE, that’s what they do for a living! “Hey, look at the movie star”, “Hey, you hear about the new pop singer?”, “Hey, you’ll never believe what so-and-so did at the awards show last night.”

As a celebrity she as well as every celebrity put herself out there for people to give opinions and statements on freely whether they are misogynistic or not, so no, dont feel bad for Angelina, dont be mad at idiots on the internet for being idiots, and certainly dont think celebrities deserve anything less but publicity for what they do whether it is good or bad.

You do realise breast cancer kills right? That she had an extremely high chance of getting it, and in getting the surgery done, she was literally trying to save her own life.

And this may come as a surprise to you, but her being alive is far more important than “looking hot”. Her sole purpose in life is not to exist for your viewing pleasure. She is more than a pair of breasts - she is a person. She’s not just Lara Croft who looks sexy on your screen and then disappears as soon as you turn it off. She has a life, she has family, she has friends, who are much more important than a couple of teenagers touching themselves to her tits.

It is in no way comparable to “cutting off your arm because you might damage it in the future” because there’s a HUGE difference between “maybe damaging your arm” and “87% chance of getting breast cancer” because again, it can kill you.

Yes, people are allowed to freely give their opinions and statements: that’s called free speech. Free speech means the government won’t arrest you for being a massive twat; it does not mean your statements are immune from criticisms. Simply because you can say something doesn’t make it right to do so.

Angelina Jolie made an extremely difficult decision that potentially saved her life. She chose to go public with this decision so other women could also benefit and possibly also save their own lives. And the lives of these women are far more important than Angelina Jolie “looking hot” in a movie. I can’t begin to articulate how incredibly selfish it is for you, or anyone else to be complaining that you personally think she no longer looks as hot as you would like, when she just prevented deaths. I cannot believe you would prioritise your own sexual desires over someone else’s life.

Getting it done and dealing with it like a normal person, no one would criticize.

However, she held a press conference and did a fucking speech. Among the things she said, that it ‘won’t detract from her femininity’, is appeasing bullshit. My mother had to have it done and it’s never the same. Jolie also has a predisposition for ovarian cancer too, but the attention-seeking cow hasn’t had those removed, has she? Selfish, inconsistent ‘reasoning’. There are some people who have to have it done, who have no choice in the matter and taking it up because she feels like it is terribly self-indulgent.

Fyi, she could still get breast cancer. Much lower risk, but there’s no such thing as 0% risk even when masses of tissue are removed.

She didn’t do it because she was self-indulgent. She did it to reduce her risk of getting breast cancer “from 87 percent to under 5 percent”. It’s unfortunate that many women don’t have a choice - that’s why it’s important to get regularly checked, which is exactly what she is promoting.

Of course she could still get breast cancer! But given the choice between 87% and 5%, I’d much rather go for 5%. How the fuck can you criticise her for that?!

And yes, she has a predisposition for ovarian cancer, too, but as she stated in her article, she ”started with the breasts, as [her] risk of breast cancer is higher than [her] risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex”.

Your entire rant is massively uninformed, and you should probably read her article before you call her a “selfish” and “attention-seeking cow”.

She would also like to have one more child.

Scar Care Many Years Post-Op.

This is something I have wanted to address for a little while now, but not had the time to do so properly.

When I first had chest surgery I was reluctant to treat my scars for the first few months. After that I attempted to use various scar treatments in order to lessen the red coloring and slightly raised nature of my scars. This didn’t have much of a visible effect due to my inconsistency; I found massaging my scars triggering in a horrible way. I also had very prominent stretch marks on my chest due to years of horrible binding methods.

I left my scars alone for many years, allowing my chest hair to cover them. I still was not comfortable revealing my chest in public, despite my chest being very well healed and the scars no where near as visible as many other guy’s chests.

Fast forward to last week when I was cleaning out the bathroom cupboard and came across a bottle of Bio-Oil I had purchased a while back to apply on my scars. I was unsure if too much time had passed for any scar treatment to be remotely useful - but it was worth a shot because I had scar care readily avaliable.

I shaved my chest in the shower (I fucking hate chest stubble! Ew!) and once dried, massaged my scars and stretch marks for approximately five minutes each side. I’ve done this for almost a week daily now, and I could not believe the results after a few applications.

I really feel it’s the massage coupled with the Bio-Oil which is working; the massage being the most effective part of the duo. I feel it increases circulation into the scar tissue, allowing the scars to become much more representative of sourrounding skin tone.

I noticed that not only did my scars fade to almost nothing in terms of coloration, but that my massaging seemed to flatten out the slightly small areas where I had almost pimple-sized bumps from stitches healing. The ends of my incisions were slightly raised (approximately 1-2mm above the surface of the rest of my skin) and this has made them lessen dramatically also.

I guess the purpose of this post was to inform men who have had surgery quite a while back to not give up on scar treatment. It may still work. In fact, I now have somewhat of a renewed confidance that eventually, with massage and scar treatment I can get my scars to a level which I will find acceptable to become shirtless in public.

I’m really interested in seeing how this works on guys my color.

I kinda think that if I wasn't so hooked on acting and music, I would be FTM.

Don’t get me wrong, I like being who I am now, but if it wasn’t for being so involved and influenced by the performing arts I really don’t think I could cope as a girl. I still dread playing overly feminine roles as it is, but heck, that’s acting for you! :’)

Kinda makes me a little nervous though. Like, because of this consistent gender issue, I’m going to really struggle. But, hopefully there are more things I can overcome, and one of them will be to develop how comfortable I am in feminine roles and clothing.

I’m kind of inspired by drag queens such as Courtney Act, Willam Belli, Detox etc. They’re comfortable in everything and anything and one thing I love about people is that they can be whoever they want to be.

I’m not sure where I’m going with this anymore, I feel like I’m rambling a ton aha.

Do you mean just after surgery or what? Typically for a time after surgery the nipple isn’t healed yet so lymph and other moisture will be on it. After that it’s typically scar tissue. I don’t think they look terrifying at all. They may be shaped a little atypical to a cis male’s but they aren’t horrifying or anything. Please don’t over exaggerate about something as personal as surgery results.

It’s because the skin blisters, peels, and then grows back and in that time you have to keep them moist and covered.

It’s just like if you burn skin somewhere on your body. It must first be peeled off so the new skin has a chance to grow back. So instead of thinking that the nipple itself looks horrible, it’s really the skin (and scabbing) that covers the nipple that looks horrible.

Cam has been taking the same dose of hormones throughout his transition and his testosterone levels have always been in the middle of the male range, where they should be. For what appears to be no reason at all, his testosterone levels drop quite low, and he needs to up his dose.

What could have caused this?

Could be a number of things that could be glossed over as “no reason at all”.

How old is Cam? Does he still have is female reproductive organs? Has there been any weight changes? Has his diet changed? Has his job changed? Is he stressed?

When was his bloodwork done?

People naturally go through cycles where their bodies react to their hormones differently, could it be that he was just tested at one of those times?

Yes, but it was funny. Mostly because it’s pretty realistic, especially if the new husband is young.

And I’m going to assume that “Desperate” is a woman.

It also reenforces that all women ceaselessly nag their husbands, are attention whores, and will complain to their mothers.

In reality it would be wise for them to sit down and have a heart to heart because it’s obvious that one of them is feeling under appreciated. Then, the clincher. It was posted by one of the most influential LGBT organizations in the country, at least with the youth.

The person responding to me, attempting to make excuses for this bull is the Vice President of the organizatio. An organization which has invited me and my group to speak during their educational lectures on trans people.

I am beyond appalled and angry at this situation, and admit that my responses are nowhere near as controlled as I would like, but I am just so angry right now.
